Austin Film Studio Details

In 1985, the Austin Film Society was formed and in 1986, was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization that presents a model for artistic works of cinema. The Austin Film Society also offers workshops and series supporting low budget films and their makers. In 2000, Austin Studios was founded by The Austin Film Society through a partnership with the City of Austin. Consisting of approximately 102,000 square feet of production space centrally located on a 20-acre plot, Austin Studios provides filming space from no budget to Hollywood budget films.

TGCE participated in the renovation of five existing aircraft hangers currently in use as film stages. The project included HVAC systems designed for spot cooling during film production with a low/no noise requirement. It also included electrical systems of sufficient capacity and flexibility to support the widely varying needs of different film companies leasing each studio.
